Love and Lemons

Ohhh have I got a good one for you all! Love and Lemons! Just the name sounds amazing- but that’s not all, the website is beautiful and the look and feel matches the food and photos perfectly.

Last fall I went to a potluck and made goat cheese stuffed figs wrapped in prosciutto. It was magical and it was the first time I truly fell in love wit figs. Later that year I started making pita pizzas, I would grill chicken in a light bbq sauce with shallots and figs and layer the pizza with spinach and a little bit of feta. It was so heavenly. Probably my favorite meal ever. So when I saw the recipe for the above my stomach jumped for joy!

Love and Lemons obviously has some great food. I mean really, really amazing and delicious looking stuff- but I also greatly appreciate the simplicity of the website. The design is clean and frames the food in the best way possible- My favorite is the logo. It’s fun and playful and beautiful. Well done guys- You rock!

Learning more about the brains behind the blog was a fun read, here’s a little piece from the Love & Lemons “About” section: “We started this blog because the one common interest we share is food. Whether we’re exploring cultures halfway around the world, checking out a new neighborhood restaurant, or experimenting in our own kitchen, we have the most fun together when food is involved.”

Food is such an amazing thing. It really does tie loose ends, it begins conversations, it can silence a room, it can stir the rawest of emotion and bring back flooding memories of childhood dinners and holidays among the people you love. It is one of those things I love to pieces and sharing it with the good people in my life is always such a treat.

Below are some of my favorite recipes. I can’t wait to try some of these, or just stare at the photograph some more… Swoon.

Voila! Now I want to make all of these and devour them. You know, being on a cleanse and the last days of P90X don’t feel so great once you come across a blog like this. I just wondered to myself if I had all the ingredients for that vegan banana bread. Sigh- Anyway, Love & Lemons is beyond awesome.
