Oh My Veggies
I’m not quite sure how I came up with OHMYDALIA. I think I was looking for something I could incorporate my name into without it actually being my name… But I think it works pretty well now and love it. Of course now anytime I find an “OH MY” site I just have to look into it. I am glad I looked into this one because I sure do love Oh My Veggies and can’t wait to try some of these amazing looking recipes.
Kiersten is the creator of this super cute blog which she writes and takes all the photos for (obviously she also cooks these amazing dishes). Like a lot of bloggers, it was a ride to try and pin-point her niche and true identity so I am super glad this was the one she settled on. The design of the blog is clean, simple and oh so perfect for the content. I really love the tone and atmosphere it sets as soon as you land on the site. It’s like eating cucumbers on a beach during a sunny day… At least for me it is.
This little snippet is from her “About Me” section and I think it does a great job explaining what kind of food you’ll find on this lovely little blog!
“I’m a firm believer in the 90/10 rule–I eat healthy 90 percent of the time so I can indulge in not so healthy foods 10 percent of the time. This is why you’ll find a wide range of recipes on Oh My Veggies. Yes, most of them are on the healthier side, but it wouldn’t be a reflection of what I eat if I didn’t include those ice cream and cupcake recipes once in a while. I use organic ingredients most of the time, local when possible. I avoid preservatives, food colors, artificial flavors, and things like that–basically, I do my best to stay away from highly processed foods.
When I first started transitioning this blog to being about food, I was hesitant to label myself as a vegetarian blogger. I don’t want to have a blog for vegetarians; I want to have a blog for vegetarian recipes. There’s a difference! Most of my readers aren’t vegetarians–instead, they’re simply looking to limit the amount of meat they eat. I hope to give them ideas beyond the standard faux meat options that many people default to when eating meatless.”
Below are some of my favorite recipes that I just can’t wait to try!
All of a sudden I am hungry and have the urge to consume all the mangos ever and probably all the coconuts too. Yum! So don’t you love them? You are totally going to enjoy all of the recipes, photos and writing that Kiersten has to share on Oh My Veggies. This blog is a breath of fresh air and is not to be forgotten, bookmark stat.
