SA VA

A few weeks ago I got to visit a lovely little shop here in Philadelphia located right in Rittenhouse Square. Here is a little about them right from their website:

SA VA is an ethical clothing and accessories brand that is built on the platform of effortless, individual style and social consciousness. Based in Philadelphia, the brand is comprised of a flagship store and design studio at 1700 Sansom Street, adjacent garment center, wholesale brand and an on-line fashion community and store. SA VA is locally made, globally inspired and community focused fashion. We believe it is our responsibility to be socially responsible. Ninety percent of the garments sold at SA VA are made in our adjacent garment center always with fair-trade and often eco friendly materials. Any products we are unable to make ourselves must have one element of sustainability, whether it is fair trade, locally made, organic, made in the U.S.A. or recycled. Through local living wage job creation and community partnerships with both the Career Wardrobe and the People’s Emergency Center we are striving to create a new kind of fashion community.

Walking into this little shop is an experience all on it’s own. You just feel like your walking into something organic, fresh and clean. It feels really good to know that most of their product is made right in-house and that all the materials and fabrics are eco friendly and make the earth happy! All of the clothing at SA VA dons a tag that tells you exactly what to expect from each garment (see below)!

The ladies there are all super nice and helpful and whatever you need to know about a product, fabric or piece of jewelry, they’ve got all the answers for you! The ladies recently told me they have tons of great happenings going on in the fall! Be sure to come back later for more information- Below are some of my absolute favorite pieces!

Lovely little shop with a great business model and ethic! I wish more shops would build themselves on a foundation of sustaining our planet and creating beautiful things with materials that come from an eco-friendly start. Be sure to check out the SA VA site as well, you can purchase items online and browse through their blog and other goodies. And if you are in Philly, be sure to stop by!

  • Love this! Their tags are great with the checklists!
Thanks for sharing, I will definitely take the time to check out their online shop. I too wish more stores would be even just a little more Eco conscious.

  • Love this boutique in so many ways! Wish they’d be more pro-active about telling the world they carry sizes up to extra large. Most small shops cater to smaller sizes. Those seeking larger ones might not venture within SA VA, and they most definitely should. PS Sale on NOW!
